Mifare conversion consultancy for PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara Client: Ruswin Indonesia

Newmont had made a strategic decision to use Mifare smart cards for access control.

Ruswin Indonesia (the security service provider to Newmont) contracted RedCrater Software Solutions to assist Newmont in making the best use of Mifare technology and to improve their access control systems.  This included:
1.    a plan for using Mifare technology to eliminate bar codes (which are unreliable and easily copied),
2.    a plan for structured and consolidated access control,
3.    design of an automated provisioning system, and
4.    recommendations on initiatives to improve card issuing.

This project involved on-site analysis, a comprehensive report and the supply of relevant technology (Mifare smart card readers and support).  The analysis involved fully understanding their ERP system (Mincom Ellipse), the use of their Cardax FT access control system and existing in-house access control and card management systems.  

From that, we formulated the strategy which was presented to Newmont as a formal report.

As Newmont adopted Mifare technology as a replacement for bar codes we supplied Mifare readers and development support to assist in the integration of that technology into Newmont’s systems.

Newmont now have the foundations for an integrated Mifare infrastructure and a clear road map for improved cardholder provisioning and management.
