SmartPack Consultancy Package

Organisations purchasing Smart Cards from RedCrater’s SmartPack resellers are entitled to the added benefit of consultancy and support services from RedCrater’s Smart Card technology experts at no extra cost.

For every total buy of 1000 Smart Cards, a purchasing customer will receive 3 hours of expert consultancy advice about suitable applications for their Smart Cards. This enables customers to better understand and extend the range of their Smart Card applications, making the most of their investment in this technology. Customers can use this at any stage within 2 years from purchasing their cards. It could be used either at the time of deploying an initial system, or once the system has bedded in and an organisation is ready to extend its use.

RedCrater’s approach is to develop broad goals and timelines with a customer about what they want to do with Smart Cards.

If a customer is adopting Smart Cards for a particular application (such as cafeteria cashless payment) RedCrater will, on behalf of the customer:

  • Liaise with the vendors of these systems to provide options which are compatible with the customer’s Smart Card technology.
  • Develop and/or update a Smart Card Electronic Design Map. This Design Map will plan out the use of various data areas on a Smart Card (e.g. sectors) so as to avoid conflicts arising from different applications using the Smart Card.
  • Once a system is chosen, RedCrater will provide a written Smart Card Management Plan. This plan will cover the workflow (either manual or automated through software) of issuing cards, updating Smart Cards and handling situations where the Card is lost or needs to be replaced.

If a customer does not have established goals for their Smart Cards nor any specific additional applications planned, then RedCrater will present suitable applications based on the type of organisation so that return on investment is maximised.

Some examples of how RedCrater assists organisations in effectively adopting Smart Card technology:

  • Ensuring they make the correct Smart Card technology decisions to best support their current and future requirements.
  • Providing support to organisations wanting to develop their own Smart Card applications.
  • Implementing Smart Card payment systems as an alternative to cash and EFTPOS.
  • Storing health and training details on a Smart Card so that user information can be checked and verified ‘in field’.
  • Supporting collaboration between organisations (e.g. using a corporate Smart Card for public transport and/or parking).
